This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Take ownership of the @verity/ui component library as a versioned package developed using accessible headless primitives and design tokens.
• Develop and sustain the @verity/tokens pipeline, transforming DTCG design tokens into Style Dictionary, CSS custom properties, and typed outputs.
• Establish code-to-Figma token workflows utilizing Figma Variables, staging files, and review methodologies.
• Generate Code Connect mappings to enable Figma Dev Mode and coding agents to produce authentic @verity/ui components.
• Outline the AI-ready system interface, encompassing MCP context, component manifests, registries, repository guidance, and agent evaluation workflows.
• Enhance CI quality gates for accessibility, visual regression, application-level regression, linting, and code ownership.
• Oversee releases using Changesets, semantic versioning, API contract validations, and migration-ready codemods.
• Collaborate with designers and product teams on Figma conventions, fostering adoption, governance, promotion, and deprecation processes.
• Construct Verity Canvas, a code-centric design system tailored for healthcare software.
• Assist in aligning the actual codebase with the Figma library during the migration from Angular to React.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in developing front-end systems, design systems, or component libraries using React and TypeScript.
• Proven experience in designing typed component APIs and delivering a design system as a published package utilized by other teams.
• Practical experience with Figma Dev Mode, variables, and Code Connect, or comparable design-to-code workflows.
• Experience in constructing design token pipelines using DTCG formats and tools like Style Dictionary or Tokens Studio.
• In-depth knowledge of accessibility best practices, including ARIA, keyboard interaction, focus management, and automated checks such as axe.
• Familiarity with Storybook, visual regression testing, CI/CD, modern Git workflows, and package management within monorepos.
• Preferred: experience with Base UI, Radix, React Aria, Ariakit, or similar headless primitive libraries.
• Preferred: experience with pnpm workspaces, Turborepo, Changesets, semver, API Extractor, or type-aware codemods.
• Preferred: experience in AI-native development workflows, MCP tooling, coding agents, registries, or agent evaluation harnesses.
• Preferred: experience in transferring tokens from code to Figma or utilizing the Figma Variables REST API.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare, regulated environments, or products where accessibility and precision are critical.
