This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Data Scientists.
• Direct the strategy and long-term advancement of renewal risk assessment capabilities, including a premier renewal risk model and associated analytics.
• Prioritize and distribute resources across significant data science projects.
• Offer practical technical guidance for solution design, predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis, forecasting, model evaluation, and risk assessment.
• Set benchmarks for peer review, documentation, validation, monitoring, performance tracking, governance, and model upkeep.
• Enhance model performance, explainability, reproducibility, reliability, and business significance while adhering to enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with pricing, underwriting, actuarial, data, technology, and analytics teams to transform business requirements into analytical plans and production-ready solutions.
• Articulate model outputs, assumptions, limitations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Facilitate the integration of analytical solutions into pricing and underwriting operations.
• Over 8 years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, actuarial analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience in developing predictive models, machine learning solutions, and advanced analytical techniques using large and complex datasets.
• Demonstrated experience leading Data Scientists and executing complex analytical projects that address business challenges and impact decision-making.
• In-depth understanding of statistical modeling, predictive analytics, machine learning, model evaluation, and experimental design.
• Skilled in Python, SQL, Spark, and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience in developing, validating, monitoring, and governing analytical models within production settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including the capacity to clarify complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Capability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement.
• A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or another relevant quantitative field is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, encompassing medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility, provider, consumer, or similar datasets.
• Experience in supporting pricing, underwriting, risk assessment, forecasting, or related business activities.
• Background in deploying and maintaining machine learning solutions in production environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional collaboration among business, analytics, and technology teams.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, model governance, and explainability practices.
• For remote work, a reliable internet connection must be secured through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with a minimum speed of 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload.
