This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the USSOCOM Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program by discovering and implementing innovative, data-driven solutions throughout the Special Operations Forces enterprise.
• Enhance the short- and long-term welfare of SOF warriors and their families through analytics and data solutions.
• Offer guidance and support to the units and POTFF staff across all POTFF domains.
• Identify opportunities and methods for gathering data related to POTFF programs and initiatives.
• Analyze results through data aggregation, statistical analysis, data mining, and pattern recognition.
• Select features and develop and refine machine-learning classifiers.
• Act as a data and analytics subject matter expert for analysts and operational stakeholders.
• Utilize optimization, simulation, regression, decision trees, neural networks, cluster analysis, mixed models, and other decision technologies.
• Review data, predict trends, account for variability, and ensure reliable forecasts.
• Enhance and refine data collection methods for robust analytical systems.
• Create automated anomaly-detection systems and oversee model performance.
• Lead project management efforts and foster team communication and strategic implementation.
• Monitor emerging technologies and systems pertinent to Maximus initiatives.
• Carry out additional strategic initiatives of Maximus.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in the field.
• BS, MS (preferred), or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis/science with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Comprehensive understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Trees.
• Proficiency with common data science toolkits.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Advanced skills in applied statistics, including distributions, statistical testing, and regression.
• Highly proficient in SQL and expert in the use of relational databases.
• Experience handling large data sets.
• Familiarity with distributed or cloud computing tools is a plus.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively within a technical team.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Deep enthusiasm for empirical research and solving complex questions using data.
• Proven leadership in prioritizing projects and assessing data analysis solutions.
• Experience collaborating directly with business users and documenting requirements.
• Background in solution/vendor assessment and product ROI evaluation.
• Experience with government-sponsored health care programs and operations is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required, or the ability to obtain and maintain one as necessary for contract performance.
