Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical foundation for the expanding data science team.

• Implement statistical rigor and machine learning methodologies throughout models, metrics, and analyses.

• Establish standards for code reviews, reproducibility practices, and the transition from prototype to production.

• Stay updated on modern machine learning techniques and agentic workflows while promoting relevant adoption.

• Engage directly in analyses and model development.

• Transition ad hoc notebooks into centralized, version-controlled, reproducible workflows and shared artifact repositories.

• Design and create production-grade data pipelines on GCP, including both scheduled and triggered jobs.

• Provide mentorship to data scientists at various experience levels.

• Collaborate with the DS team's manager and the SVP of Product & Data on technical direction.

• Work on multiple projects with diverse scopes and domains.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8+ years of professional experience in data science, with a robust formal background in statistics and machine learning.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in production and deployment.

• Proven experience in operationalizing data science projects, transitioning from notebooks to scheduled, reliable production pipelines.

• Practical knowledge of GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, or similar tools.

• Proficient in Python, particularly for ETL, analysis, and modeling tasks.

• Experience in mentoring or providing technical leadership to less experienced data scientists.

• Ability to thrive in a startup, small, or 1-10 employee environment where structures are built from the ground up and outcomes are owned.

• A background in data engineering is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with agentic or LLM workflows is advantageous but not essential.

• Experience with data analytics or BI tools is helpful but not required.

• Authorized to work in the US without the need for company sponsorship.
