Senior Manager, Data Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead, develop, and empower a growing Data Science team comprising both internal and external colleagues.

• Establish priorities, support professional growth, and cultivate an inclusive, high-performing atmosphere.

• Serve as a hands-on technical collaborator in the realms of data science, machine learning, and model evaluation.

• Balance analytical rigor with business needs and scalable execution.

• Enhance experimentation and measurement practices throughout the Data & AI domains.

• Provide guidance to product teams regarding A/B testing, success metrics, statistical methodologies, power analyses, and experimental outcomes.

• Partner with Data & AI leaders to define priorities, share knowledge, build complementary capabilities, and elevate technical standards.

• Contribute to team expansion through recruitment and onboarding processes.

• Assist product teams in areas such as demand forecasting, replenishment, and retail media products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in applied Data Science and Machine Learning.

• Proven experience in deploying data science or ML products in production settings.

• Established background in people management.

• Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, causal measurement, or power analysis.

• A strategic outlook combined with a hands-on approach.

• Technical proficiency in modeling, evaluation, data quality, and machine learning methodologies.

• Strong skills in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, and large-scale data processing.

• Experience in a cross-functional product environment.

• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English.

• Proficiency in German is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience with demand forecasting, replenishment, retail, sponsored advertisements, e-commerce, or similarly complex operational data science products is a plus.
