This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +10 more states.
• Develop and implement a communication strategy tailored to specific audiences across various business segments and regions.
• Create and improve best practices for communications, operational rhythms, and governance.
• Collaborate with business leaders to drive sales growth via both traditional and digital communication channels.
• Formulate strategies for senior leadership positioning, storytelling, message consistency, channel governance, quality assurance, and performance measurement.
• Assist in transformation, cultural shifts, commercial endeavors, and change initiatives with quantifiable communication outcomes.
• Report to the Head of VWR Communications and act as the primary communications authority for the designated audience.
• Provide guidance and support to senior leaders concerning communication strategy, messaging, channels, delivery methods, and key initiatives.
• Design and execute communication strategies, plans, governance, and scheduling.
• Drive strategic narratives by leveraging audience insights and selecting appropriate communication channels.
• Maintain consistency and continuity in messaging, standards, approvals, and program support.
• Enhance communication platforms, tools, and operational frameworks.
• Facilitate two-way dialogue and engagement to amplify key messages and enhance brand comprehension.
• Plan, oversee, and communicate changes related to transformation, culture, or commercial initiatives.
• Align with corporate external and internal communication strategies, policies, standards, and tactics.
• Offer proactive advice to internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with team members, corporate and business communication partners, and regional stakeholders.
• Define, implement, and refine KPIs, metrics, and reporting methods.
• Provide support for issues and crisis communications as necessary.
• Supervise agency partners when appropriate.
• Lead communication processes, governance, and approval standards.
• Measure, monitor, and analyze program effectiveness, ROI, resource allocations, and communication outcomes.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Over 8 years of experience in communications, journalism, corporate communications, or related agency roles.
• Proven success in developing and implementing communication strategies, programs, and campaigns across diverse regional or multi-segment audiences.
• Experience in matrix organizations.
• Familiarity with business operations, senior stakeholder management, and cross-regional collaboration.
• Experience in a building mode and navigating through complexity and ambiguity.
• Ability to adapt across various capacities as needed.
• A comprehensive strategic communications perspective and solid business acumen.
• Knowledge of relevant corporate functions and audience-specific insights.
• Focus on measurable performance outcomes.
• Capability to foster productive relationships, influence senior leaders, and navigate stakeholder interactions across functions, business segments, and regions.
• Understanding of change management practices, change communication techniques, communications governance, and operational frameworks.
• Strong writing, editing, presentation, and speaking skills are essential.
• Experience in a life science, technology, or science-related company is preferred.
• Global or multi-region communications experience is preferred.
