Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Communication/Public Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses within the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Instruct subjects including Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance instructional quality through creative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Support the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course objectives, providing timely feedback on their advancement.

• Contribute to strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain records of student attendance and grades, assisting in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present up-to-date course content.

• Facilitate ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic methods, and other appropriate channels.

• Engage in professional development and attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Maintain continuing education hours for license renewal, if applicable.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing.

• A Master's Degree is required.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Capability to mentor students effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Prior online teaching experience is required, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented experience in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts related to specific subjects, or recent clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A strong commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student body.
