Executive Communications Director – Chief Product & Technology Officer

📋 Description

• Implement an annual communications strategy and plan that positions the Chief Product & Technology Officer as the driving force behind Twilio’s innovation narrative.

• Create content on behalf of Twilio’s CPTO, including keynotes, internal presentations, blogs, press releases, and social media posts.

• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Corporate Communications to convey Twilio’s innovation narrative through R&D leaders.

• Identify thought-leadership opportunities to enhance the visibility of R&D leadership.

• Generate content representing R&D during quarterly Company All Hands and various companywide meetings.

• Lead communications for change-management initiatives within the R&D department.

• Produce content for R&D communications and events that promote Twilio’s Builder culture.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with Twilio’s Management Team, R&D Leadership, Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders.

• Act as the trusted communications advisor to the Chief Product & Technology Officer.

• Assist in selected R&D initiatives and leadership communications both internally and externally.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in communications, with at least 3 years in a focused executive communications position.

• More than 5 years of experience in the technology sector.

• Proven experience writing for, collaborating with, and influencing CEOs, C-level executives, and Senior Vice Presidents.

• Strong executive presence and the ability to advise on communication strategies at all organizational levels.

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration capabilities across R&D, GTM, Marketing, HR, PR, and Internal Communications teams.

• Outstanding project management abilities.

• Strong business acumen complemented by superior editing and writing skills.

• Experience with external thought leadership, including blogs, keynote presentations, and social media engagement.

• Proficiency in developing slide decks for presentations to large audiences.

• Ability to distill complex subjects like AI, data, and product strategy into engaging and digestible content.

• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for delivering clear, compelling, and strategic executive messages.

• Anticipated travel of approximately 25%.
