Senior Manager, Cloud and Connectivity Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the integrity, security, and ongoing enhancement of the company's global network and Azure infrastructure platform.

• Lead Azure platform governance, including landing zone design, policy enforcement, subscription strategy, tagging, and identity and access management.

• Ensure that Azure environments, landing zones, and resources maintain security, compliance, and alignment with Microsoft best practices and regulatory standards.

• Oversee global network architecture spanning about 90 offices and 12 SD-WAN locations.

• Administer the Azure vWAN intercontinental backbone, hub topology, routing design, and ExpressRoute/VPN connectivity across EMEA, APAC, and North America.

• Establish infrastructure standards for reliability, availability, and disaster recovery, while validating and testing them with service delivery leads.

• Manage Azure cloud cost governance and implement FinOps practices and reports.

• Define and uphold network security standards, including segmentation, zero-trust access, firewall governance, and secure internet breakout.

• Set observability standards and SLAs for availability, latency, and redundancy.

• Drive innovation, capacity planning, and lifecycle management for cloud and network components.

• Report KPIs, achievements, risks, and challenges to the manager.

• Contribute to the Global IT Infrastructure strategy and roadmap.

• Oversee infrastructure projects, including business cases, opportunity studies, and project plans.

• Mentor project members to ensure the achievement of project objectives, costs, timelines, and business value.

• Ensure comprehensive change management, communication, training, and support for cloud/connectivity projects.

• Manage ongoing PDCA improvement cycles based on KPIs and SLAs.

• Facilitate a smooth transition of IT projects into operational phases.

• Recruit, develop, and retain team members.

• Execute the budget for the Cloud and Connectivity domain.

• Apply ITIL principles and engage in change management and the change advisory board.

• Manage strategic relationships with managed service partners and suppliers using KPIs and SLAs.

• Assist DIT peers and business application teams with cloud solutions and expert advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Several years of experience as a global team leader with extensive remote management capabilities.

• At least 10 years of experience in Information Systems Infrastructure and Cloud networking and design.

• Proven track record of delivering results and generating business-oriented value, including ROI-based project plans and global initiatives.

• Experience in platform ownership and continuous improvement of cloud environments in line with ITIL practices.

• Familiarity with the international and Japanese IT markets and their partners.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Information Systems Infrastructures and Cloud environments.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure networking and management, SD-WAN, and the Cisco product portfolio.

• Practical project management experience, particularly with infrastructure projects involving rollout activities.

• Basic understanding of security and its implications in workplace settings.

• Strong vendor and/or partner management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.

• Cisco and Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-500 or equivalent) are a plus.
