Senior Manager, Client Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the India-based Cloud Platform engineering team, including managing workload distribution, prioritization, and daily personnel management.

• Evaluate and endorse submissions for Terraform modules and AKS configuration modifications, ensuring accuracy, adherence to standards, and readiness for production.

• Implement engineering process standards such as issue-based work tracking, triage, prioritization, work-in-progress limits, and daily progress updates.

• Deliver precise and verified status reports on the activities of the India-based team, validated against the actual state of systems and repositories.

• Collaborate with Principal and Expert Platform Engineers on platform architecture and standards compliance.

• Guarantee that the team's outputs are consistent with GitOps, Terraform, and AKS best practices.

• Proactively escalate any technical or delivery risks in a timely and direct manner.

• Assist in the hiring process, onboarding, and skill enhancement for the India-based team.

• Utilize established policy-as-code and security standards, such as Kyverno, when assessing the team's deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering roles, including some experience in people management or as a formal technical lead.

• Practical production experience with Kubernetes, particularly AKS, sufficient to independently review changes to clusters or workloads.

• Proficient in Terraform, with experience in evaluating modules for accuracy, reusability, and adherence to documented standards.

• Familiarity with GitOps practices using ArgoCD, Flux, or similar tools.

• Capability to produce accurate and verifiable status reports for senior leadership.

• Experience in directly managing engineers, including performance evaluation, prioritization, and workload management.

• Proficient in policy-as-code tools such as Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, or similar technologies.

• Experience in leading a distributed or offshore engineering team under a manager located in a different region.

• Hands-on, current experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools in everyday engineering tasks.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, or equivalent solutions.

• Background in modernizing legacy automation tools like PowerShell to Terraform or other platform-native alternatives.
