Senior Manager, Client Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Directly oversee Cloud Platform engineers based in India, including managing workload distribution, prioritization, and daily personnel management.

• Evaluate and authorize submissions for Terraform modules and AKS configuration modifications to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and readiness for production.

• Implement issue-based work tracking, triage and prioritization, enforce work-in-progress limits, and deliver daily status updates.

• Provide precise, verified status reports on the team's activities, cross-referencing with system and repository states.

• Collaborate with Principal and Expert Platform Engineers regarding platform architecture and compliance with established standards.

• Ensure that the team's work is consistent with GitOps, Terraform, and AKS practices.

• Proactively identify and escalate technical or delivery risks at an early stage.

• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and skill enhancement for the team based in India.

• Uphold established policy-as-code and security protocols, including Kyverno or similar tools, when assessing team outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering roles, including some prior experience in people management or formal technical leadership.

• Practical production experience with Kubernetes, preferably with AKS, enabling the review of cluster or workload modifications and problem identification.

• Proficient in Terraform, including the assessment of modules for accuracy, reusability, and compliance with documented standards.

• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, or similar solutions.

• Capability to generate precise, verifiable status reports for senior management.

• Direct experience in managing engineers, focusing on performance management, prioritization, and workload planning.

• Working knowledge of policy-as-code tools such as Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, or their equivalents.

• Experience managing a distributed or offshore engineering team that reports to a manager in a different geographical region.

• Current, practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in everyday engineering tasks.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, or comparable technologies.

• Background in modernizing legacy automation, such as transitioning from PowerShell to Terraform or native platform alternatives.
