Senior Manager, Business Technology Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the BizTech Enablement and Innovation initiatives, acting as BizTech's solutions partner for non-technical departments within the company.

• Oversee Airbnb's strategy for AI integration and its effects beyond the Engineering sector.

• Establish a vision for AI-driven operations and ensure functions are held accountable to measurable results.

• Develop a comprehensive multi-year strategy and roadmap for AI integration across non-technical areas.

• Evaluate capability deficits and emerging AI trends to inform investment strategies.

• Streamline business technology tools and address gaps that lead teams to utilize unsupported solutions.

• Set organizational OKRs, success metrics, baselines, targets, and designate ownership.

• Act as the senior BizTech liaison for executive and leadership teams regarding AI transformation.

• Create frameworks for assessing and reporting on the business impact of AI.

• Design and enhance the operating model that links technical functions and networks.

• Facilitate AI enablement, allowing functions to develop and disseminate solutions at scale.

• Collaborate with platform and product teams to shape the AI tooling roadmap.

• Manage external partnerships and consulting engagements, including defining scope, governance, and ROI.

• Establish standards for quality, reliability, and security of AI solutions and oversee operational issues in production.

• Prioritize addressing technical debt and the long-term upkeep of deployed solutions.

• Lead a globally distributed, multi-disciplinary team comprising managers, Business Solutions Engineers, Systems Architects, and Program Managers.

• Develop talent plans and succession pipelines, with a focus on hiring at L10 and above.

• Mentor and develop team members and leaders.

• Pilot cutting-edge technologies with business teams and transition validated solutions to product owners.

• Represent BizTech in company-wide AI discussions and participate in hiring committees and talent processes.

• Exemplify Airbnb's core values and enhance its mission through responsible AI integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience in business technology, enterprise systems, digital transformation, or technical program leadership.

• 5+ years of experience in managing teams and leading multi-disciplinary groups.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven history of establishing and executing multi-year strategies for company-wide technology or transformation initiatives with executive visibility.

• Experience in business technology consulting, solutions engineering, or IT business partnering for non-technical teams.

• Ability to influence product and vendor roadmaps effectively.

• Experience in ensuring the quality, reliability, and support of technology solutions in a production environment.

• Proven capability to build trusted relationships with and influence C-level and executive team members.

• In-depth, practical knowledge of generative AI tools and agentic workflows.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to formulate measurement frameworks, interpret adoption and impact data, and guarantee data quality and credibility at an executive level.

• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively amid ambiguity and rapid change.

• Experience in designing operational models across multiple teams and organizations without direct authority.

• Proven success in attracting, hiring, and nurturing senior talent and managers across different regions.

• Preferred: experience in leading enterprise AI adoption or change management at a large technology firm.

• Preferred: experience managing external consulting partners and globally distributed teams.

• Preferred: willingness to travel as required, approximately 10 to 20% of the time.
