Senior Manager, Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Spearhead data and analytics initiatives that involve multiple balanced teams and intricate cross-functional projects.

• Mentor engineers and managers to enhance data literacy across the organization.

• Empower cross-functional teams to pinpoint problem statements and analysis opportunities prior to conducting experiments or testing.

• Analyze complex data sources independently to assess their value and applicability to specific problem statements.

• Gather and consolidate both structured and unstructured data from various sources, ensuring quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.

• Develop data visualizations for data exploration and convert analytical insights into actionable solutions for business partners and leadership.

• Broaden technical knowledge and seek feedback to enhance the usability of the enterprise data platform.

• Coordinate and deliver integrated solutions alongside analytics teams beyond Kohl’s Technology department.

• Work in conjunction with BIE leaders to create, document, and disseminate best practices while guiding strategic and tactical decisions.

• Manage processes related to attracting, retaining, developing, and mentoring associates across multiple balanced teams.

• Execute additional assigned responsibilities.

• Proficiency in business intelligence tools like Tableau or Qlik, including the development of interactive dashboards and visualizations for non-technical audiences.

• Capability to clearly communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset to tackle challenges in data analysis.

• Effective collaboration skills within cross-functional teams, working closely with stakeholders from various business units to foster data-driven decision-making.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects with keen attention to detail.

• Experience in leading more than one team of individual contributors and managers.

• Competence in guiding and coaching engineers and managers across multiple teams, advocating for a lean product mindset and outcome-focused execution.

• Experience in supporting advanced analytics and A/B testing/experiment measurement.

• An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) in an analytic or quantitative field is preferred.

• At least 10+ years of relevant professional experience in a data analysis role is preferred.

• A minimum of 3+ years of formal managerial or leadership experience in analytics or retail organizations is preferred.

• Proficiency in querying data with SQL and programming using Python and R.

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, etc.

• Experience in creating enterprise-grade data visualizations using Qlik or Looker, along with an understanding of semantic data modeling design.

• Knowledge of Generative AI tools like Gemini for conversational analytics dashboards or reporting workflow automation.

• Experience in aggregate and semantic data modeling design for reporting.
