Senior BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Burundi, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain engaging dashboards, visualizations, analyses, and reporting solutions utilizing TIBCO Spotfire.

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for BI solutions, encompassing requirements gathering, data modeling, calculations, and report/dashboard creation.

• Influence design strategies and architectures for data models and calculations.

• Establish guidelines that other developers can utilize for their projects.

• Manage version control and deployment procedures through GitHub.

• Perform code reviews and authorize contributions from team members.

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product teams to proactively address data quality and integrity issues.

• Identify and escalate potential risks or inefficiencies in a timely manner.

• Mentor team members and assist in their design choices.

• Define and promote the adoption of BI standards and best practices.

• Function independently and make informed decisions regarding trade-offs without needing approvals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in BI development.

• Extensive practical experience in designing and developing dashboards, visualizations, analyses, and reporting solutions using TIBCO Spotfire.

• Familiarity with Power BI.

• Openness to working across various BI and visualization platforms as business requirements change.

• Strong skills in data modeling, including star schema, relationships, and performance optimization at scale.

• Knowledge of multi-tenant data architecture and Row-Level Security (RLS).

• Hands-on experience with GitHub in a team deployment workflow.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage deliverables.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on follow-through.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Adaptable to various BI/visualization platforms.
