This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Create and enhance a benefits strategy that supports the attraction and retention of talent, as well as total rewards.
• Perform benchmarking and market analysis for plan design, funding, and policy-making decisions.
• Collaborate with brokers and Communications to develop benefits branding and materials.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with benefits vendors and stakeholders.
• Oversee vendor performance and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
• Lead the process for vendor RFPs, selection, and contract negotiations.
• Organize retirement plan governance meetings, including agendas, records, and minutes.
• Stay updated on regulations and provide guidance to leadership regarding compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
• Convert benefits data and process performance into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Supervise and mentor the benefits administrator and part-time benefits coordinator.
• Act as the escalation point for complex issues related to eligibility, claims, and vendor concerns.
• Maintain thorough documentation and process guides.
• Assist in HRIS and benefits platform automation initiatives.
• Assess automation tools, workflows, and system improvements.
• Direct project management and communications for Open Enrollment, flu shot clinics, and regulatory updates.
• Organize targeted wellness events and ensure prompt, knowledgeable, and empathetic support.
• Over 8 years of experience in benefits management, covering both benefits strategy/plan design and practical program administration.
• Experience in benefits or a related area within a mid- to large-sized organization.
• Proficiency in developing benefits strategy, including market benchmarking and plan design.
• Familiarity with benefits compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Understanding of benefits administration systems, file feeds, and integration technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• CEBS, CBP, and SHRM designations are advantageous.
• Prior experience in benefits brokerage is a plus.
• Involvement in benefits strategy and total rewards programs.
• Oversight of retirement plans.
• Wellness events, including flu shot clinics and financial seminars.
