Senior Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute SEIA policies and positions across Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona.

• Track policy developments in New Mexico and Utah as required.

• Supervise regulatory and legislative activities in key Intermountain West states.

• Prepare regulatory filings.

• Oversee the SEIA Intermountain West Committee along with its daily operations.

• Coordinate regular calls and meetings with SEIA members.

• Engage in legislative and lobbying efforts.

• Collaborate with external legal counsel, contract lobbyists, and technical advisors as needed.

• Partner with local and regional trade organizations, SEIA state affiliates, stakeholders, parties, and consultants.

• Create content for, moderate, and participate in panels at national and regional conferences and trade shows.

• Manage the budget for the region.

• Report to the Vice President of State Affairs.

• Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Policy and other SEIA departments, including Regulatory Affairs, Research, Communications, and Membership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

• 4–8 years of experience in solar, energy, advocacy, or related sectors.

• Familiarity with regulatory and legislative processes in the Intermountain West region.

• Regulatory experience in the region is preferred.

• Legislative experience is advantageous.

• Proven experience in the electricity, utility, renewables, or generation sectors is preferred.

• Knowledge of energy policy and/or markets.

• Understanding of enabling technologies such as storage, demand response, distribution management systems, and electrification.

• Knowledge of rate design, interconnection, integrated resource planning, grid modernization policies, and renewable energy program design is highly desirable.

• Willingness to travel, mostly within the region.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Ability to handle diverse and challenging perspectives from member companies.

• Capacity to work independently and remotely.

• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and build consensus.

• The ideal candidate should reside in the Intermountain West region, preferably in the Denver, Las Vegas, or Phoenix metro areas.

• Must be able to work in a remote office setup that is adequately equipped with internet and telephone access.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; SEIA is an E-Verify employer.
