Senior Manager, Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain scalable data pipelines for content metadata.

• Establish reliable core business reasoning and uphold high data quality standards for titles, rights, taxonomy, and catalog data.

• Transform metadata feeds and content data into dependable datasets, dashboards, and insights.

• Design and manage pipelines that handle titles, rights and licensing windows, genres, talent, franchise or series hierarchies, and availability.

• Create and enhance data models that unify metadata from ingest, catalog management, licensing, and rights management systems.

• Facilitate detailed reporting at title, franchise, and window levels.

• Detect and address duplicate titles, missing or conflicting rights windows, inaccurate genre or talent tagging, and misclassified territories.

• Contribute to anomaly detection systems and operational dashboards that track catalog health, metadata completeness, and data quality KPIs.

• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions by collaborating with analysts, content operations, programming, licensing, product, software engineering, and data engineering teams.

• Create scalable, high-performing datasets in Databricks, Looker, and Snowflake for self-service analytics.

• Lead the creation of technical documentation and establish coding standards and data governance practices.

• Manage teams and promote data excellence on a large scale.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Data Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 7 years of experience in analytical engineering, data engineering, or data analytics.

• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.

• In-depth knowledge of ETL/ELT principles, data architecture, and performance optimization.

• Experience in building scalable data products and pipelines using Databricks, Airflow, Spark, or similar platforms.

• Direct experience in modeling and maintaining content metadata pipelines, including title catalogs, rights, and windowing data.

• Familiarity with genre and talent taxonomies or similar structured data within entertainment or media.

• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with production-grade datasets in cloud-based data environments such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Proficiency with BI tools such as Looker and Tableau, including curated data layers and performance tuning.

• Knowledge of data hygiene practices, including version control, code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Experience with content rights and licensing data, availability windows, territory restrictions, and content lifecycle management.

• Understanding of content taxonomy and classification systems used in entertainment or media.

• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language for data transformation or orchestration.

• Awareness of streaming media or direct-to-consumer digital products.

• Experience in implementing anomaly detection systems or conducting root cause investigations for metadata issues.

• Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices for licensed content.
