Senior Manager, AI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide, mentor, and cultivate a team of AI engineers and technical experts

• Encourage innovation, technical proficiency, teamwork, and ongoing learning

• Oversee performance management, career growth, coaching, and succession planning

• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and workforce strategy

• Supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of AI development projects

• Manage work progress, risks, challenges, dependencies, and delivery commitments

• Eliminate execution obstacles across multiple concurrent initiatives

• Ensure AI solutions align with timeline, quality, reliability, and security standards

• Offer technical direction for AI and machine learning solution design and execution

• Advocate for engineering standards, reusable components, testing, documentation, and development frameworks

• Promote best practices in AI engineering, MLOps, automation, and DevSecOps

• Assess emerging AI technologies for their suitability in an enterprise setting

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define technical strategies

• Align AI development efforts with implementation priorities and adoption requirements

• Report progress, risks, and results to leadership and stakeholders

• Manage relationships with vendors and technology partners

• Propel continuous enhancement of development processes, tools, and engineering practices

• Support the SDLC and model lifecycle management, including monitoring, reporting, supportability, and operational readiness

• Ensure adherence to enterprise security, governance, and responsible AI standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, data science, machine learning, AI engineering, or similar technical fields

• At least 3 years of experience managing technical teams in the delivery of intricate technology solutions

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI, machine learning, generative AI, or automation solutions

• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, cloud-native architectures, APIs, MLOps practices, and contemporary development methodologies

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to balance technical excellence with the delivery of business value

• Experience in regulated environments is preferred
