This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide assistance for ongoing projects that involve the installation, testing, and implementation of new z/OS operating systems and associated system software.
• Maintain and troubleshoot systems software.
• Monitor and optimize systems software performance.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Address incidents and resolve issues effectively.
• Manage incidents, changes, and problems.
• Configure and tailor z/OS and related tools.
• Establish parameters.
• Interact with vendors.
• Engage in and contribute to technical projects.
• Assist in problem resolution and implement modifications within z/OS environments.
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required and/or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with z/OS and its installation and maintenance, including SMP/E.
• Proficient in TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.
• Knowledgeable in Unix System Services (USS).
• Experienced in USS file system management and security.
• Capable of executing the responsibilities of a Mainframe System Programmer.
• Able to perform moderately complex ISV installations.
• Understanding of z/OS security protocols.
• Knowledge of z/OS systems programming functions.
• Comprehension of z/OS services structure, Parallel Sysplex, and Catalog management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Capable of maintaining composure in high-pressure incidents and emergency situations.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
