This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver continuous support for all mainframe hardware, which includes troubleshooting, problem solving, and maintenance tasks.
• Actively ensure that hardware is maintained at current microcode levels.
• Facilitate new client business transitions and migrations.
• Execute IOGEN and various hardware configuration tasks.
• Conduct DASD/TAPE replication utilizing diverse technology.
• Configure storage and processors, incorporating DASD model conversions and updating MSUs.
• Engage in problem resolution for Sev1/Sev2 incidents.
• Aid in disaster recovery efforts.
• Diagnose significant system issues and escalate to vendors for service recovery and problem resolution.
• Develop tools and processes to enhance team productivity and effectiveness.
• Create documentation, standard operating procedures, and automation processes.
• Collaborate closely with accounts and clients when technical consulting is necessary.
• Execute ITIL change management duties, including ticketing and managing change requests.
• Offer 24x7x365 on-call support, service restoration, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Support numerous customers through a leveraged support model.
• Mentor team members as needed.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with Hardware Management Consoles for various Mainframe Hardware, including Processor, DISK, and TAPE.
• Knowledge of DISK and TAPE Architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of IOCP/IOCDS/IODF.
• Experience with IBM’s Copy Service Manager.
• Understanding of VTAM/TCPIP concepts.
• Capability to diagnose common hardware issues and resolve them swiftly.
• Ability to analyze performance metrics on DASD and Tape subsystems.
