Senior Magento Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive Magento Commerce implementations, migrations, and upgrades for enterprise-level brands.

• Transition eCommerce platforms from Salesforce, Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce to Magento.

• Handle extensive customer, order, and product data migrations.

• Perform upgrades on Magento versions while ensuring backward compatibility and smooth operation.

• Identify and rectify infrastructure issues, performance bottlenecks, and server-related challenges.

• Implement enhancements for scalability on high-traffic eCommerce platforms.

• Troubleshoot and fix broken functionalities, integrations, and issues with third-party extensions.

• Ensure compliance with PCI standards, follow security best practices, and optimize performance.

• Create custom Magento modules, extensions, and integrations for ERP, OMS, WMS, and other third-party platforms.

• Connect Magento with React, Next.js, or Vue.js frontends in headless commerce setups.

• Design and maintain APIs and microservices that link Magento with enterprise systems.

• Collaborate closely with clients, lead projects, and work alongside cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Magento Commerce (Adobe Commerce).

• Proficient in PHP, Magento 2, MySQL, and GraphQL.

• Strong background in backend development.

• Significant experience with Magento upgrades, performance optimization, and debugging complex eCommerce applications.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting and scaling Magento applications.

• Knowledge of Magento theming, PWA (Progressive Web Apps), and modern frontend frameworks.

• Experience integrating Magento with ERP, CMS, OMS, and WMS solutions.

• Familiarity with React, Next.js, or Vue.js frontends and headless commerce architectures.

• Experience in developing APIs and microservices.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Capability to work independently, take charge of projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Willingness to align working hours with Eastern Time (ET) or Pacific Time (PT).
