This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Collaborate and strategize with seed production managers to ensure timely supply, shipment scheduling, and effective communication of customer deliveries.
• Generate and oversee loads within seed logistics tracking systems.
• Detect and address trucking delays or challenges in coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Handle freight negotiations and liaise with the freight team regarding daily logistics operations.
• Accelerate product transportation and resolve any arising issues.
• Investigate, establish, and uphold routing and dispatch execution.
• Streamline routes and manage costs, minimizing out-of-route and empty mileage.
• Deliver customer service and support to business units and stakeholders by utilizing order tracking, sales, logistics, and inventory management systems.
• Build and nurture strategic relationships with carriers.
• Oversee seed quality assurance and collaborate with suppliers throughout the seed production contract process.
• Keep records and compile reports for the shipping season and year-end.
• Act as a liaison among client plants, terminal storage facilities, internal sales/marketing, and customers to meet product sales and delivery objectives.
• Foster a robust safety culture by adhering to safety policies and regulations while addressing workplace hazards.
• Carry out additional assigned responsibilities related to seed operations.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics.
• Familiarity with the seed industry and quality assurance practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard shipping practices for bulk and packaged seed.
• Proficient in the MS Office suite.
• Proven capability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with logistics tools and ERP systems.
• Selected candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, if applicable, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks.
