Senior Linux Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Manage and support Red Hat server environments, including tasks such as patching, updates, upgrades, and performance optimization.

• Provide after-hours on-call assistance and address system incidents and alerts.

• Execute and oversee infrastructure modifications with thorough documentation, testing, and controlled implementation.

• Conduct server security hardening, vulnerability evaluations, and respond to security incidents.

• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability metrics.

• Collaborate with networking, database, application, and other IT teams for integration and troubleshooting efforts.

• Engage in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing initiatives.

• Automate system administration tasks using Python, Ansible, Bash, and related technologies.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting manuals.

• Stay updated on Linux administration, security, and operational technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Linux Server Administration, particularly in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.

• At least 5 years of experience with VMware vSphere, VMware vCenter, and Red Hat OpenStack, covering deployment, administration, performance optimization, and operational support.

• Demonstrated experience using Python, Ansible, and Bash for scripting and automation tasks.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management methodologies.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and network troubleshooting techniques.

• Experience managing both modern and legacy Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Linux server platforms.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex server, virtualization, and network challenges.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience in 24/7 enterprise production environments.

• Must be available for assigned morning, mid, or night shifts.

• Preferred: Relevant Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform certifications.

• Additional certifications in VMware virtualization technologies or ITIL are beneficial.
