Senior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate intricate SaaS agreements, encompassing data processing addenda and security terms, to support EMEA go-to-market initiatives.

• Coach and provide guidance to regional sales teams regarding SaaS deal structures, negotiation strategies, and resolution of customer disputes.

• Structure, negotiate, and enhance channel partnerships with resellers, MSPs, distributors, and global system integrators.

• Collaborate with the Privacy Legal team on risk tolerance strategies and commercial contract responses in accordance with global privacy regulations such as GDPR and DORA.

• Take ownership and modernize SaaS agreement templates, negotiation playbooks, and contract escalation processes.

• Offer practical, risk-aware legal advice to Marketing, Product, Finance, Contract Managers, and other cross-functional teams.

• Align legal strategies with the company’s consumption-based model, monetization, and product-led growth objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Located in the UK.

• Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex SaaS commercial contracts, partner frameworks, and cloud technology agreements.

• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles.

• Qualified to practice law and in good standing with the relevant professional regulatory body, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority or an equivalent entity.

• Practical knowledge of data privacy, artificial intelligence, security issues, and global compliance frameworks relevant to commercial SaaS transactions.

• Experience collaborating directly with enterprise sales teams throughout the EMEA region.

• Capacity to manage competing deadlines, establish boundaries, prioritize effectively, and work autonomously.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster trust across different functions, regions, and executive levels.

• Verification of identity and employment eligibility is mandatory.

• A criminal background check is required.

• May need to pass an export compliance assessment.

• In-house legal experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with consumption-based SaaS is advantageous.

• Experience managing GSI/reseller partner agreements and advising marketing teams is a bonus.

• Understanding of AI products, LLMs, and the product lifecycle is beneficial.

• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E or familiarity with the EU AI Act and DORA are considered a bonus.
