This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Draft and modify commercial agreements, amendments, order forms, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, legal correspondence, and internal policy documents.
• Analyze, interpret, and clarify contracts and legal documents, pinpointing obligations, termination and renewal processes, pricing and fee terms, as well as discrepancies.
• Create written summaries and recommendations for legal counsel and business stakeholders.
• Elevate novel, high-risk, or ambiguous issues along with proposed solutions.
• Review contract redlines throughout Premier’s supply chain service lines, identifying significant changes, deviations from approved positions, and unacceptable risk transfers.
• Lead negotiations with business counterparts and representatives from other parties.
• Engage in complex negotiations alongside attorneys and business stakeholders.
• Monitor open issues, deal status, and turnaround commitments.
• Act as a liaison for sourcing, operations, and member field teams.
• Convert business objectives into contractual language and interpret legal risks into business terms.
• Develop and sustain contract templates, clause libraries, fallback positions, and negotiation playbooks.
• Enhance contracting processes and intake procedures.
• Ensure accurate contract records are maintained within the contract lifecycle management system.
• Address inquiries from Premier members and suppliers.
• Assist with special projects as required.
• Perform other related duties to fulfill organizational needs.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (required).
• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Proficient in drafting, redlining, and interpreting commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Experience leading and participating in contract negotiations.
• Strong ability to write clearly, concisely, and in plain English; writing samples will be requested.
• Capability to collaborate with attorneys, sourcing professionals, and representatives from large health systems and corporations.
• Ability to articulate the business rationale behind contractual engagements and present information effectively to senior management and contracting staff.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Working knowledge of commercial contract law concepts and healthcare regulatory factors affecting GPO contracting.
• Ability to meet deadlines and swiftly adapt to changing priorities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in operating computer programs and software.
• Effective communication skills, both in person and electronically.
• Capability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a business setting.
• Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and perform sedentary tasks.
