Senior Learning Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop Facilitator Guides, Participant Workbooks, Job Aids, Exercises, Coaching Guides, blended learning solutions, and e-learning modules.

• Create knowledge resources specifically for front-line staff.

• Assess, evaluate, and enhance both existing and new training programs and materials for internal and external purposes.

• Facilitate classroom and virtual training sessions, covering everything from onboarding to ongoing development and refresher training.

• Offer subject matter expertise and consultation on training development and facilitation.

• Oversee learning design and development initiatives across the business unit and client programs.

• Onboard new employees and contingent workers.

• Develop and conduct standardized training on systems and processes.

• Travel to various UBC sites and client-hosted locations as required.

• Evaluate the impact of training with program participants and management.

• Review performance records to identify areas needing retraining.

• Address training requests from leadership, program managers, and quality teams.

• Maintain and update training programs and materials in response to system and process changes.

• Author and deliver tailored training, simulation scenarios, and hands-on exercises.

• Document and maintain training records and related documentation.

• Research, write, publish, and maintain process documents utilizing knowledge-management and authoring tools.

• Collaborate with various departments, business owners, and subject matter experts to document procedures and convert business needs into user instructions.

• Lead improvements in documentation flow and storage, alongside revisions of training-related SOPs.

• Manage or engage in projects that support Operations Learning objectives.

• Cross-train and collaborate with Learning and Quality teams.

• Conduct needs assessments and forge partnerships with internal clients.

• Design, develop, and support strategic initiatives and enhancements from a learning viewpoint.

• Partner with internal clients and IT for system builds, UAT testing, and interactive learning solutions.

• Stay informed on advancements in training and instructional design, recommending curriculum modifications accordingly.

• Resolve complex problems and deliver solutions to challenging technical issues.

• Develop and sustain expert knowledge of essential tools and learning requirements.

• Participate in both in-person and virtual internal and external meetings and events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, training, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in training.

• Certification in facilitation, instructional design, adult learning, or PMP is preferred.

• Ability to inspire employees and provide thought leadership.

• Capability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a heavy workload.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

• A keen focus on Patient & Client Satisfaction.

• Exceptional prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills.

• Advanced proficiency and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Proven track record in developing training courses and supporting documentation.

• Experience in conducting needs analysis and operational application functionality.

• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and techniques.

• Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external clients.

• Proven ability to identify tailored strategies and tactics for successful training delivery.

• Experience with e-learning authoring tools, HTML, and knowledge management tools.

• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• Relevant systems and tools experience, including ADDIE, SAM, Storyline, Articulate, Captivate, Photoshop, video production, SharePoint/Web Development, PowerPoint, WebEx, Visio, technical writing, HTML/CSS, eQMS, SumTotal, Survey Monkey, and Excel pivot tables and charts.
