Senior Leader, Indirect Strategic Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee sourcing initiatives within indirect spend categories.

• Formulate category strategies, supplier approaches, multi-year plans, category playbooks, and governance frameworks.

• Manage supplier segmentation, renewal visibility, preferred supplier programs, and category governance.

• Track market trends, pricing fluctuations, supplier innovations, risks, and industry advancements.

• Deliver category intelligence, benchmarking insights, and strategic recommendations.

• Align enterprise business priorities with category-level sourcing and supplier strategies.

• Foster trusted relationships with Finance, Legal, IT, Cybersecurity, Facilities, HR, Marketing, Operations, and other business functions.

• Involve stakeholders early to guide sourcing choices and commercial strategies.

• Assist in supplier lifecycle management, performance assessment, renewal planning, and supplier enhancement.

• Support procurement policies, governance, improvements in operating models, tools, templates, and sourcing frameworks.

• Analyze spend, supplier, contract, and category data.

• Create executive-ready presentations, reporting, business cases, and recommendations.

• Leverage Excel, Power BI, AI-driven tools, and procurement technologies to enhance business outcomes.

• Aid in developing scalable sourcing capabilities, category management practices, supplier governance procedures, technology-enabled operations, and data-informed decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• More than 5 years in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, Supplier Management, or Supply Chain.

• Proven success in leading sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experienced with Power BI.

• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

• Knowledge of Zip or comparable procurement workflow platforms.

• Proficient in Jira or equivalent project management tools.

• Ability to independently analyze data, construct business cases and executive presentations, and translate analytical results into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

• Capable of thriving in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environments.

• Experience in developing category strategies, playbooks, supplier segmentation models, and sourcing roadmaps.

• Background in managing indirect spend across insurance, financial services, professional services, technology, or other complex enterprise settings.

• Experience in spend and supplier analysis, benchmarking, and business analytics.

• Familiarity with supporting procurement transformation initiatives and working in multi-site, acquisition-driven, or high-growth organizations.

• Knowledge of AI-enabled business tools and analytics platforms.
