Senior Leader – Enterprise IT & Technology Strategic Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive sourcing projects in software, cybersecurity, AI/SaaS, IT, professional services, and designated indirect categories.

• Formulate and implement category strategies that align with organizational goals.

• Perform market evaluations, supplier assessments, benchmarking, and sourcing activities.

• Lead intricate commercial negotiations and pinpoint opportunities for value creation.

• Create category strategies, supplier approaches, multi-year plans, category playbooks, and governance frameworks.

• Maintain supplier segmentation, visibility on renewals, preferred supplier programs, and category governance.

• Track technology markets, licensing and consumption models, pricing trends, supplier innovations, risks, cybersecurity advancements, and emerging AI solutions.

• Provide insights on category intelligence, benchmarking, and strategic recommendations.

• Convert enterprise technology priorities into category-specific sourcing and supplier strategies.

• Foster relationships across IT, Cybersecurity, Finance, Legal, Privacy, Operations, and additional business functions.

• Influence technology requirements, supplier choices, commercial strategies, and build-versus-buy considerations.

• Assist in supplier lifecycle management, performance oversight, renewal planning, supplier rationalization, and optimization.

• Negotiate agreements for software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, AI solutions, cybersecurity platforms, IT services, implementation services, and professional service arrangements.

• Address pricing, usage and consumption commitments, renewal escalators, audit and true-up exposure, service levels, termination rights, data rights, and total cost of ownership.

• Support procurement policies, technology acquisition governance, third-party risk mandates, operational model enhancements, tools, templates, and sourcing frameworks.

• Analyze data related to technology spending, suppliers, contracts, licensing, usage, renewals, and categories.

• Create presentations, reports, business cases, and recommendations suitable for executives.

• Utilize Excel, Power BI, AI-driven tools, and procurement technologies to enhance business outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, Supplier Management, or Supply Chain.

• Proven experience managing software, cybersecurity, AI/SaaS, IT, or technology services categories.

• Track record of successfully leading complex technology sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations.

• In-depth understanding of software licensing, SaaS subscription/consumption models, cybersecurity needs, and technology commercial frameworks.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, NetSuite or similar ERP, Zip or comparable procurement workflow platform, and Jira or equivalent project management tool.

• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management, software asset management, SaaS management, and third-party risk tools is advantageous.

• Capacity to independently analyze technology spending, licensing, usage, supplier, contract, and category data.

• Ability to develop business cases and executive presentations that translate findings into actionable recommendations.

• Capability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environments.

• Experience in crafting technology category strategies, playbooks, supplier segmentation models, sourcing roadmaps, and renewal governance is preferable.

• Background in negotiating enterprise software, SaaS, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, managed services, implementation, or IT professional services contracts is a plus.

• Experience managing technology categories in insurance, financial services, professional services, technology, or other intricate enterprise settings is a plus.

• Experience supporting procurement transformation initiatives and working in multi-site, acquisition-driven, or high-growth organizations is a plus.
