Senior Lead, Procurement Excellence – Market Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive market intelligence program for essential procurement categories.

• Track supplier markets, commodity trends, cost factors, technological advancements, supply-demand fluctuations, capacity limitations, and geopolitical risks.

• Create market intelligence reports, category updates, and summaries suitable for executive presentation.

• Assist category managers and sourcing teams with market research, analysis of supplier landscapes, benchmarking, and competitive intelligence.

• Recognize emerging risks and opportunities that impact category strategies and sourcing decisions.

• Manage category intelligence databases, dashboards, and knowledge resources.

• Convert market intelligence into actionable sourcing strategies.

• Provide market and industry insights to support executive reviews and business planning.

• Design, execute, and enhance onboarding and capability development programs for Procurement and Logistics.

• Create training curricula encompassing sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationship management, category management, contracting, risk management, analytics, logistics, business acumen, and stakeholder engagement.

• Conduct training sessions, workshops, learning forums, and knowledge-sharing events.

• Establish role-based learning paths and career development frameworks.

• Assess and report on training effectiveness, participation, and capability improvement outcomes.

• Manage knowledge management resources, templates, playbooks, and best-practice content.

• Oversee procurement and logistics training platforms, learning tools, capability assessments, and development methodologies.

• Evaluate and implement learning technologies, digital content solutions, and knowledge-sharing strategies.

• Advocate for standardized procurement methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Lead the monthly Procurement and Logistics Key Progress Update process.

• Gather, validate, and synthesize updates from category, procurement operations, logistics, and functional teams.

• Craft executive communications covering achievements, cost savings, supplier accomplishments, market changes, risk management, capability development, and strategic priorities.

• Oversee the distribution of monthly updates to employees, leadership, and business stakeholders.

• Create presentations, newsletters, leadership communications, and other materials.

• Direct the Procurement and Logistics recognition program.

• Manage special projects and strategic initiatives for Procurement and Logistics leadership.

• Assist in procurement transformation, enhance organizational effectiveness, and improve operating models.

• Carry out research, benchmarking, financial analysis, and business case development.

• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other partners.

• Monitor project milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.

• Identify and implement improvements for organizational efficiency and stakeholder experiences.

• Cultivate relationships across procurement, logistics, supply chain, engineering, operations, finance, and business functions.

• Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among global teams.

• Provide data-driven insights, effective communication, and project leadership to influence stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

• 7-10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, consulting, organizational development, or similar business functions.

• Proven experience in supporting category strategies through market research and data-driven analysis.

• Experience in developing training programs, onboarding processes, organizational capability initiatives, or learning content.

• Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.

• High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.

• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree.

• Preferred: CPSM, ISM, CIPS, PMP, or related professional certification.

• Preferred: Experience in technology, electronics, semiconductor, manufacturing, or complex global supply chain environments.

• Preferred: Experience in procurement transformation, procurement excellence, or change management initiatives.

• Preferred: Familiarity with learning management systems, knowledge management tools, and internal communications programs.
