Senior Java Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend applications utilizing Java 17+ and Spring Framework technologies.

• Create and enhance batch processing solutions with Spring Batch, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.

• Construct and manage data access layers along with SQL logic using Oracle Database.

• Oversee database schema modifications and version control through Flyway.

• Use Bitbucket for source code management, including pull requests and code reviews.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins.

• Implement SOLID principles and clean code methodologies to guarantee code quality and maintainability.

• Utilize prompt engineering strategies and LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to assist in development and troubleshooting tasks.

• Monitor and manage requirements, tasks, and deliverables through Jira.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams and participate in architectural and technical decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Java 17 or later.

• Demonstrated experience with Spring Framework and Spring Batch (2.x or later).

• Proficient in Spring Boot.

• Practical experience with Oracle Database.

• Familiarity with database migration and versioning tools, preferably Flyway.

• Skilled in using Bitbucket for source code management and collaborative development.

• Strong experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.

• Solid knowledge and practical application of SOLID principles and clean code practices.

• Experience employing prompt engineering techniques with LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

• Proficient in using Jira for demand tracking and task management.

• Experience or knowledge of DB2.

• Understanding of COBOL and Mainframe environments.

• Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS).

• Familiarity with WinSCP for secure file transfers.

• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
