Senior IT Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance internal systems that support Tines's expanding business.

• Take charge of the administration and enhancement of enterprise platforms, including Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, AWS, and other essential IT systems.

• Assess configurations, access, and functionalities to enhance security and usability.

• Create, develop, test, document, and sustain automated workflows and integrations.

• Minimize manual tasks and facilitate dependable employee self-service options.

• Examine intricate escalations with IT Operations, pinpoint root causes, and substitute recurring problems with scalable technical or process enhancements.

• Lead systems engineering projects from the initial requirements gathering to rollout, monitoring, and operational transition.

• Balance the needs of the business with security, reliability, and maintenance efforts.

• Collaborate with Security, Internal Automation, business stakeholders, and vendors to promote secure enterprise technology usage and internal development at Tines.

• Contribute to the systems, processes, and documentation that will support future Federal environment requirements.

• Report to the IT Manager based in Boston.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least eight years of relevant IT systems engineering experience or equivalent experience that showcases senior-level technical ownership.

• Extensive hands-on administration and engineering experience across various enterprise platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, AWS, identity providers, or endpoint management systems.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining automated workflows, integrations, or self-service solutions using APIs, scripting, or automation platforms.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities, including using logs and command-line tools to investigate complex issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting improvements.

• Sound judgment regarding access controls, data security, testing, change management, and rollback, along with an understanding of build-versus-buy trade-offs and ongoing maintenance.

• Experience in independently delivering technical projects, managing competing priorities, and clearly communicating with engineers, operational teams, and business stakeholders.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

• Familiarity with Tines, GCP, regulated environments, CMMC, FedRAMP, Microsoft 365 GCC High, secure enterprise AI adoption, or compliance documentation is advantageous, though not mandatory.
