Senior IT Software Developer Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Lead a team responsible for the design, development, maintenance, testing, and debugging of software solutions.

• Define and establish the system scope and objectives for the projects assigned.

• Create or adjust procedures to address complex challenges.

• Develop detailed specifications to guide program development.

• Conduct quality assurance evaluations.

• Ensure project completion aligns with user satisfaction and expectations.

• Provide training and guidance to the team members.

• Assess the impact and compatibility of new programs with current system operations.

• Oversee the development of system specifications through collaboration with business users and stakeholders.

• Evaluate the feasibility of projects.

• Determine the software and hardware requirements for projects.

• Ensure compliance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) guidelines.

• Lead the software development process, including modifications and maintenance.

• Prepare documentation for both administrators and end-users.

• Supervise analysts and programmers, assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring their workloads.

• Generate status reports for the department manager.

• Ensure that project outcomes meet established goals and requirements.

• Foster collaborative relationships within the project team.

• Stay informed about technological advancements and trends.

• Support the organization's quality initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; a major in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred.

• A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• At least five (5) years of experience in program development is necessary.

• A minimum of three (3) years of specialized programming experience related to program requirements.

• Preferred working knowledge of claims management applications.

• Familiarity with applications systems analysis and programming is required.

• Knowledge of claims management systems is essential.

• A high level of self-motivation is necessary.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present effectively.

• Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office products.

• Strong leadership capabilities.
