Senior IT Portfolio – Governance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +15 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the continuous enhancement of IT portfolio governance processes.

• Oversee demand intake, prioritization, portfolio reviews, reporting tasks, governance administration, and the assessment of initiatives in relation to business priorities and capacity limitations.

• Ensure the integrity of portfolio data and visibility of governance.

• Generate portfolio reports, dashboards, metrics, and analytical insights.

• Lead governance discussions, facilitate decision-making, and drive continuous improvement efforts.

• Promote the adoption of PMO processes and strive for operational excellence.

• Enhance PMO processes, tools, operating procedures, governance practices, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies.

• Create and sustain PMO tools, templates, governance documents, demand and portfolio management templates, project lifecycle documentation, knowledge bases, and project information.

• Offer guidance, training, and support to project managers, resource managers, and project teams regarding PMO processes, tools, methodologies, portfolio management practices, and governance standards.

• Collaborate with IT and business leaders, project managers, resource managers, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent governance and informed decision-making.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in supporting PMO operations, portfolio management, governance, demand management, or related areas.

• 3–5 years of experience with project and portfolio management methodologies.

• Background in supporting project or program delivery activities within IT organizations.

• Experience in preparing portfolio reports, governance documents, dashboards, and executive presentations.

• Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot.

• Previous experience in supporting or leading enterprise portfolio governance forums is advantageous.

• Prior experience in managing and maintaining governance artifacts, systems, and repositories is beneficial.
