Senior Data Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish data standards, naming conventions, and quality benchmarks for Fabric and Ed-Fi data environments.

• Lead the identification of steward networks, provide training, establish protocols, manage communities of practice, and coordinate with regional stewards.

• Assist in data quality assessments, process access requests, and facilitate governance board meetings.

• Create data retention and lifecycle policies that comply with federal retention regulations.

• Aid in the formulation of the Master Data Management strategy.

• Configure and uphold Microsoft Purview governance controls, which include sensitivity labels, data domain definitions, access policies, and DLP rules.

• Assist with data classification and marking requirements.

• Set up and verify RBAC for data access in accordance with the DoWEA governance framework and Microsoft Entra ID.

• Collaborate with designated Government personnel to co-develop governance artifacts.

• Generate reports on governance maturity progress.

• Offer expert knowledge on best practices for federal and DoD data governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• Certification in CDMP or DGSP is required.

• Proficient experience with Microsoft Purview governance controls.

• Understanding of the DoD Data Strategy and VAULTIS objectives.

• Background in federated governance models.

• Experience in developing frameworks for data classification and access governance.
