Data Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Aids in the implementation and operationalization of data governance processes, policies, and standards.

• Contributes to the development of metadata catalogs, data quality scorecards, data classification inventories, and access control documentation.

• Conducts ongoing data quality monitoring, governance compliance assessments, and facilitates data stewardship coordination.

• Maintains governance documentation and assists in knowledge transfer to Government personnel.

• Engages in data profiling, validation, cleansing, and quality monitoring across various data domains within the Fabric Lakehouse environment.

• Creates and executes data quality test cases and reconciliation scripts.

• Oversees data pipeline outputs against predefined quality thresholds.

• Records data quality issues, monitors resolutions, and generates quality trend reports.

• Supports the design and implementation of RBAC in accordance with Microsoft Entra ID and the DoWEA governance framework.

• Assists in data classification and sensitivity labeling within Microsoft Purview.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active Secret clearance.

• Experience with metadata management tools, data catalogs, or governance platforms.

• Familiarity with NIST or DoD data management frameworks.

• Proficiency in SQL.

• Experience in supporting RBAC or data access control processes.

• Experience with data quality tools or frameworks.
