Senior IT Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and construct scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models for analytics, clinical, and operational users.

• Lead data engineering initiatives from requirement gathering to production deployment.

• Oversee technical quality and ensure delivery milestones are met.

• Develop and enhance SQL, Python, and pipeline code for improved performance, reliability, and maintainability at scale.

• Contribute to decisions regarding data platform architecture, including storage design, processing methodologies, and selection of tools.

• Identify data quality concerns and collaborate with source system owners to facilitate resolution and implement preventive measures.

• Establish engineering standards for pipeline development, encompassing testing, documentation, and version control.

• Mentor junior data engineers and play a role in enhancing team capabilities.

• Work autonomously on projects that have enterprise-wide impact with minimal supervision.

• Act as a technical expert on complex data issues and influence methods, policies, and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• 4-6 years of experience in data engineering.

• Proficient in advanced SQL.

• Strong skills in Python for data pipeline development.

• Extensive experience with data pipeline tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or Informatica.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms.

• Experience in data modeling, including dimensional design, data vault, or medallion architecture patterns.

• Proven ability to independently manage data engineering projects.

• Professional-level certification in cloud or data engineering is preferred.
