Senior / Intermediate Full Stack Engineer – Backend-Leaning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance full stack functionalities for a multi-tenant SaaS platform catering to enterprise restaurant and catering clients.

• Create and implement backend services and REST APIs with a focus on clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility.

• Collaborate with Java/Spring services and modern React/Node.js applications.

• Contribute to architectural enhancements and shift existing patterns towards more event-driven designs.

• Develop automated tests and assist in maintaining a reliable, secure, and production-ready engineering environment.

• Create and manage CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions, and engage in the entire lifecycle from design to deployment.

• Work alongside product and engineering colleagues to transform customer requirements into software solutions.

• Take ownership of developed features with an emphasis on follow-through, product quality, and consistent delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience as a full stack engineer with a solid backend focus and comfort across the technology stack.

• Extensive production experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

• Practical experience with React and Node.js in production settings.

• Proven ability to design and implement REST APIs in real-world applications.

• Experience with cloud-based SaaS applications and considerations for multi-tenant products.

• Familiarity with message-based or event-driven systems.

• Experience delivering impactful software in e-commerce, ERP, or CRM environments; e-commerce experience is particularly relevant.

• Strong commitment to automated testing, code quality, and secure development practices, with an understanding of common web security vulnerabilities.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including hands-on involvement with GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Nice to have: knowledge of approval workflows, complex pricing structures, enterprise order flows, POS integrations, payment gateways, Azure Cosmos DB or other document databases, observability and OTEL-style instrumentation, infrastructure-as-code, and experience in hospitality, restaurant, or catering software.
