This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
• Develop, enhance, and sustain GLM-based pricing models along with associated regression techniques employed for rate determination, segmentation, and performance forecasting.
• Utilize machine learning methodologies as suitable to improve predictive accuracy and insights into customer behavior.
• Act as a technical leader on pricing projects, ensuring methodological integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Independently take a scoped project from inception to completion, appropriately escalating any questions or obstacles.
• Oversee a rotating portfolio of 2–4 active projects, which may include pricing model development, research projects, and assistance with regulatory submissions.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to grasp the relationships between pricing, conversion rates, retention, and risk segmentation.
• Execute advanced root-cause analyses using SQL and statistical methods to probe data issues and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.
• Communicate modeling results, assumptions, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and engaging manner.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the advancement of data science best practices throughout the organization.
• A graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline, along with 2+ years of experience in a data science or analytical role, OR 4+ years of progressive experience in data science or analytics.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) or Pet Insurance pricing, including rate modeling, GLMs, segmentation, or related actuarial/data science tasks.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis.
• In-depth understanding of GLMs, regression modeling, and statistical inference.
• Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment within a small, high-impact team.
