Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Server and Virtualization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Administer, maintain, and provide daily support for both on-premises server and virtual machine infrastructure.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly patching activities for operating systems and server components.

• Spearhead automation initiatives aimed at minimizing manual tasks while enhancing the consistency and reliability of maintenance activities.

• Identify, evaluate, and remediate vulnerabilities affecting operating systems, applications, middleware, and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with the Information Security team to address security findings and ensure compliance with requirements.

• Coordinate and implement change requests related to firewalls, networks, and infrastructure.

• Oversee the server lifecycle, which includes hardware upgrades, software upgrades, decommissioning of obsolete technologies, and platform modernization.

• Monitor the health, capacity, performance, and availability of all environments.

• Lead root cause analyses and manage infrastructure problem management activities.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, patching schedules, and runbooks.

• Collaborate effectively with application, DBA, network, cloud, and vendor teams.

• Drive continuous improvements in operational excellence, security, automation, and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Windows Server and/or Linux administration within enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with virtualized infrastructure platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, OpenShift, or similar technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of operating system patching, software lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, and change management processes.

• Practical understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles.

• Experience with structured change control and governance processes in large enterprise environments.

• Proficient in using internal tools and processes for infrastructure operations, deployment, and management.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and business teams.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies to manage priorities and deliver results in dynamic production environments.

• Advanced English proficiency for everyday communication.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is advantageous.

• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Knowledge of configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Ansible and Jenkins.

• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms like Splunk and Dynatrace.

• Background in vulnerability management solutions and security remediation programs.

• Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments, encompassing both on-premises and cloud platforms.

• Understanding of backup and recovery processes, disaster recovery planning, and best practices for infrastructure resilience.

• Experience in implementing infrastructure hardening, compliance standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
