This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark, +5 more countries.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL clusters on Kubernetes, taking responsibility for high availability, performance, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Kubernetes operators and controllers using Go to automate database and platform operations.
• Design, construct, and operate robust cloud infrastructure on AWS across various accounts and regions.
• Create and sustain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, automating manual operational workflows.
• Enhance reliability, scalability, and security through monitoring, observability, and proactive capacity planning.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues spanning PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation.
• Establish and advocate for best practices in database operations while mentoring engineers.
• Take full ownership of Laravel Cloud’s managed PostgreSQL service, encompassing operations, automation, reliability, and best practices.
• Achieve measurable enhancements in performance, scalability, and operational maturity.
• Over 7 years of experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Extensive production PostgreSQL knowledge, including performance tuning, replication, backups and recovery, high availability, major version upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in AWS or GCP for designing, deploying, and operating production cloud infrastructure.
• Preferred experience with large AWS environments, customer data, multi-account configurations, and multiple regions.
• Practical experience with production Kubernetes and container orchestration, including stateful workloads, storage, networking, RBAC, cluster upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Strong proficiency in Go with experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes operators and controllers.
• Familiarity with Kubebuilder, controller-runtime, or Operator SDK.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals, including network protocols, load balancing, caching, and DNS management.
• Experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code within a team, with a preference for Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and GitOps workflows, including tools like Argo CD or Flux.
• Proficiency with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools and processes, including Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Preferred experience with PostgreSQL on Kubernetes using CloudNativePG or Crunchy Postgres for Kubernetes.
