Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure for distributed systems and the global platform.

• Lead incident response efforts and conduct root cause analyses, ensuring swift resolution and system improvements post-incident.

• Develop intelligent monitoring, alerting, and automated healing systems.

• Identify system bottlenecks, optimize performance, and create strategies for capacity and scaling.

• Work collaboratively with software engineers and platform teams to enhance system reliability and delivery.

• Advocate for deployment practices, performance testing, automation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

• Mentor engineers, influence infrastructure strategy, and establish technical standards and best practices.

• Provide ideas and constructive feedback to shape product development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Participate in on-call rotations for services that are owned and operated.

• Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure or SRE roles supporting complex, large-scale production environments.

• Extensive experience with AWS.

• Strong practical knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure as code methodologies.

• Proficient in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and cloud-native architectures.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, APIs, authentication and authorization, Kafka/MSK, and various AWS services.

• Proficient in using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages for infrastructure automation.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Strong skills in incident management and disaster recovery practices.

• Ability to collaborate across engineering teams, drive reliability initiatives, mentor peers, and communicate effectively.

• Experience with CloudFormation, CDK, or similar tools is advantageous.

• Database expertise, especially in operating and scaling production databases, is a significant plus.

• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, cryptography, or security products is a valuable addition.

• A BA/BS degree is a plus.
