Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Securely decommission the legacy domain servers after migrating all outstanding dependencies and services.

• Conduct a complete restoration of the previous directory in a testing environment.

• Transition the name-resolution service (DNS) from the old servers.

• Organize the cleanup of the old directory and perform a comprehensive backup export prior to decommissioning.

• Transfer the special roles of the domain servers and systematically power down the three domain servers one by one, including FSMO transfer and demotion.

• Shift the management servers to a configuration that eliminates the reliance on the old domain.

• Collaborate with the client to determine the fate of the 52 unidentified server records.

• Transition database and service accounts from old Windows logins.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), encompassing FSMO roles, replication, metadata cleanup, forest restoration, and domain controller demotion.

• Proven experience in DNS migration, including zones, conditional forwarders, and Azure Private Endpoints.

• Familiarity with Azure IaaS and server lifecycle management.

• Understanding of SQL Windows authentication and gMSA / Managed Identity.

• Practical knowledge of Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).

• Acquainted with DFS / NTFS permissions.

• Knowledgeable about Entra Domain Services.
