This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop, oversee, and enhance cloud-native platform infrastructure.
• Enable engineering teams through ongoing automation, infrastructure-as-code, and self-service functionalities.
• Design, construct, and manage resilient cloud-native infrastructure with a focus on automation, scalability, and high availability.
• Maintain systems based on Linux and Kubernetes by utilizing automated workflows and contemporary pipelines.
• Implement self-service functionalities to alleviate cognitive load and empower development teams.
• Ensure system dependability, high performance, and fault tolerance for large-scale distributed systems during peak traffic periods.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmaps that align with global business goals.
• Collaborate with Principals, Engineering Leads, and developers to convert requirements into scalable platform solutions.
• Enhance cloud cost efficiency and system reliability through automated processes and modern infrastructure patterns.
• Offer technical mentorship and guidance to promote continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in comparable roles.
• Strong background in designing, constructing, and maintaining complex platform infrastructure and distributed systems.
• In-depth knowledge of multi-cloud infrastructure environments, including Azure and GCP.
• Significant hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Linux administration.
• Demonstrated experience with modern CI/CD practices and tools, such as ArgoCD and Jenkins.
• Practical programming skills in Python or Golang for the development of platform tools.
• Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform automation.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies (FinOps) — nice to have.
• Strong background in security and compliance standards relevant to platform engineering — nice to have.
• Experience with internal developer platforms (IDPs) and developer experience enablement — nice to have.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Technical leadership and mentorship capabilities.
• Focus on resilience, psychological safety, and operational excellence.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.
• Must reside in Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, or Brazil.
