Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and implement automated private cloud infrastructure and technology solutions that support reliable, scalable applications.

• Oversee incident and problem resolution by diagnosing connectivity, infrastructure, and communication issues while identifying root causes.

• Automate testing, configuration, release, and deployment processes utilizing infrastructure-as-code and contemporary DevOps methodologies.

• Monitor infrastructure capacity, availability, and performance, providing recommendations for enhancements.

• Maintain inventories of hardware and software, network diagrams, technical documentation, and system records.

• Collaborate with service providers, technology teams, business partners, and leadership to resolve issues and enhance infrastructure solutions.

• Keep disaster recovery documentation current and engage in Business Resumption Readiness testing.

• Mentor and coach engineers through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and training initiatives.

• Contribute to shaping the technology direction of the organization.

• Actively represent personal experiences during recruitment and hiring processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

• Over 8 years of experience with the VMware portfolio, including VCF, SRM, vSAN, NSX, and HCX.

• More than 5 years of experience with Terraform Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools such as Ansible, GitHub Actions, and container solutions.

• At least 5 years of experience working with PowerShell, HashiCorp HCL, RESTful APIs, YAML/JSON, and PowerCLI.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Group Policy.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with SAN arrays, NAS, Cisco UCS, Dell PowerFlex, and Pure Storage.

• At least 2 years of experience supporting Windows Server and Red Hat operating systems.

• Preferred certifications include VMware VCF, Microsoft, HashiCorp, Ansible, or other relevant vendor certifications.

• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

• Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, enterprise policies, and procedures is mandatory.

• Required to report any suspicious activity, customer complaints, procedure violations, and ethical concerns as necessary.
