Senior Industrial Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of the company's range of hardware products from initial concept to final production.

• Design, model, prototype, and refine hardware concepts thoroughly.

• Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to address packaging, thermal, structural, and harness-routing trade-offs.

• Quickly create physical prototypes using printing and mockup techniques.

• Generate renders, animations, and drawings for executives, clients, and manufacturing collaborators.

• Demonstrate a strong design aesthetic and artistic vision across various products.

• Engage directly with design leadership and hardware engineers as part of the initial hardware design team.

• Assume responsibility for design challenges and follow them through in a lean, hands-on team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding portfolio showcasing hardware designs, including sketches and the design development process.

• Proficient surfacing and CAD abilities.

• Comfortable working with and transitioning between engineering CAD.

• Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, molding, coatings, and finishes.

• Experience or background in sectors such as consumer products, automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical, or industrial equipment.

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, or Cinema 4D is advantageous; proficiency in a specific toolset is highly valued.

• An active security clearance is a plus but not mandatory.

• Candidates must be situated near Long Beach, California, or Denver, Colorado, or be eligible to work remotely within the United States.

• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or qualified to obtain necessary U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR compliance.
