This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design process while collaborating closely with clients/owners to establish project expectations.
• Facilitate the solicitation, selection, and contracting process with designers for design-build initiatives.
• Develop and present comprehensive project proposals.
• Create detailed project design phases and establish baseline construction schedules.
• Conduct thorough construction planning, which includes selecting subcontractors and optimizing site utilization.
• Lead the design team in integrating constructability, logistics, and client expectations.
• Guide the estimating team in formulating technical design elements and cost documentation.
• Manage costs during the design phase, including estimates, value engineering, and budget oversight.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory approvals and risk management protocols.
• Execute LEED tracking and analysis.
• Supervise and mentor design phase team members, providing necessary resources and support.
• Conduct performance evaluations and take part in hiring processes.
• Exemplify outstanding customer relations and gather feedback throughout the design process.
• Efficiently manage site operations and logistics, offering suggestions for improvements.
• Potentially oversee two projects at once or one larger project.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field.
• At least six years of relevant experience.
• Experience in utility-scale solar projects is preferred.
• Experience in self-performing tasks is advantageous.
• Background in construction and renewable energy is preferred.
• Strong orientation towards teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Attention to detail is essential for organizing and managing multiple project tasks.
• Basic knowledge of construction law and generally accepted business practices is required.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant web applications.
• Proven positive attitude, professionalism, and strong customer service capabilities.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Must currently have legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
