Senior Identity & Access Management Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance enterprise identity services encompassing authentication, federation, access management, lifecycle, and governance.

• Develop and manage identity platform services for workforce, cloud, and enterprise application access.

• Assist with identity integration tasks for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, application onboarding, and platform consolidation.

• Establish reusable standards, patterns, automation, and runbooks for identity integrations and operations.

• Implement and support SSO, MFA, conditional access, federation, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, and directory integrations.

• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and business teams to define and deliver identity solutions.

• Diagnose identity issues related to authentication flows, federation, access policies, provisioning, and integrations.

• Enhance identity service reliability through monitoring, incident response, automation, and security hardening.

• Evaluate identity platforms and access patterns to mitigate risk and support audit and compliance requirements.

• Contribute to the identity roadmap by proposing enhancements to security, usability, and operational efficiency.

• Report to an Engineering Manager, Enterprise Identity Services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering identity and access management solutions.

• Experience in integrating, modernizing, or migrating IAM capabilities across enterprise environments, including public cloud and on-premises systems.

• Profound understanding of SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP, Kerberos, and SCIM.

• Familiarity with enterprise identity platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping, SailPoint, Saviynt, CyberArk, or similar technologies.

• Working knowledge of MFA, conditional access, privileged access, identity lifecycle processes, access reviews, and least-privilege access models.

• Proficient in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar scripting, automation, or programming languages.

• Strong understanding of security standards, control frameworks, risk management practices, and identity security best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

• Capability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple engineering initiatives concurrently.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.

• Preferred: Relevant security, identity, or cloud certification such as CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, Microsoft, Okta, AWS, or similar.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid enterprise environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, API integrations, and platform engineering practices.

• Preferred: Experience supporting identity-related tasks for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, application rationalization, or enterprise transformation programs.

• Preferred: Experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or influencing cross-functional technical direction.
