
Senior HSEQQ Manager – EPC/EPCM Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee a comprehensive HSEQ strategy across EPC/EPCM projects
• Act as the main HSEQ consultant for Project Directors and the EPC/EPCM leadership teams
• Facilitate the integration of Ramboll’s HSEQ program, translating expectations into project-specific controls and leadership practices
• Offer HSEQ advice during proposal developments and contract discussions
• Define clear HSEQ roles and interfaces among Ramboll, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Create adaptable HSEQ organizational structures and governance frameworks
• Develop standardized HSEQ execution plans throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases
• Set clear construction readiness criteria for contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessment, and on-site execution
• Harmonize HSEQ standards among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other third-party stakeholders
• Lead the onboarding process for contractors, alignment workshops, audits, and performance evaluations
• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bidding documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management processes
• Ensure governance and accountability in hazard identification, construction risk evaluations, high-risk work assessments, and site management
• Review safety controls for lifting operations, electrical tasks, confined space access, working at heights, ground disturbance, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations
• Provide support and escalation for incidents with high potential or severity
• Conduct site inspections, leadership interactions, and assurance evaluations
• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams, fostering a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, client expectations, and Ramboll HSEQ standards
• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance discussions
• Create HSEQ performance reports utilizing leading and lagging indicators
• Convert performance metrics into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategies for stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects
• Robust background in high-risk industrial construction environments with multiple contractors
• Proven ability to influence others without direct authority
• Experience in construction management delivery models, contractor execution, and client-contractor relationship management
• Practical knowledge of HSEQ controls during construction phases, contractor management, incident investigations, assurance, and regulatory compliance
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities
• Preferred: Professional certifications (CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent)
• Preferred: Experience in energy transition, power generation, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure initiatives
• Preferred: Background in supporting owner's EPC/EPCM models across multiple simultaneous projects
• Preferred: Experience in international or remote projects
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
