
Senior HSEQQ Manager – EPC/EPCM Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive HSEQ strategy across Ramboll Americas’ EPC/EPCM projects.
• Provide guidance to Project Directors and EPC/EPCM leadership teams.
• Facilitate the integration of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-level controls and routines.
• Offer HSEQ advice during proposal development and contract negotiations.
• Define the structures, roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance models for HSEQ organizations.
• Develop standardized HSEQ execution plans that encompass engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover processes.
• Set expectations for construction readiness concerning contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessments, and field controls.
• Harmonize HSEQ standards and performance requirements among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Lead contractor onboarding processes, alignment sessions, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Incorporate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bid documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management protocols.
• Ensure governance and assurance over hazard identification, construction risk evaluations, high-risk work assessments, and site controls.
• Evaluate controls pertaining to lifting, electrical work, confined spaces, work at heights, ground disturbances, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.
• Assist with incident escalation, investigations, and the application of lessons learned.
• Perform site visits, engage with leadership, and conduct assurance reviews.
• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams while fostering a culture of safety, psychological safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and Ramboll HSEQ standards.
• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance meetings.
• Create HSEQ performance reports utilizing leading and lagging indicators.
• Transform performance data into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in on-site HSEQ roles.
• Significant experience with large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
• Strong expertise in multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction environments.
• Capability to influence others without direct authority.
• Experience in supporting construction management delivery models through contractor execution and client/contractor interface management.
• Familiarity with HSEQ controls during the construction phase, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred qualifications: CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or an equivalent professional certification.
• Preferred experience: involvement with energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects.
• Preferred experience: supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects.
