This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead the senior HSEQ strategy for Ramboll Americas’ EPC/EPCM project portfolio.

• Act as the primary HSEQ advisor for Project Directors and leadership teams in EPC/EPCM.

• Promote the adoption of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-level controls and leadership routines.

• Offer HSEQ guidance during proposals and contract negotiations.

• Create scalable HSEQ organizational structures, governance models, and standardized execution plans.

• Set expectations for construction readiness concerning contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk review, and field execution controls.

• Ensure alignment of HSEQ standards across contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.

• Manage contractor onboarding, alignment sessions, audits, and performance evaluations.

• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bid documents, and mobilization plans.

• Provide governance and assurance over hazard identification, construction risk assessments, high-risk work reviews, and site controls.

• Evaluate controls for high-risk activities, including lifting, electrical work, confined space entry, work at height, ground disturbance, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.

• Assist in incident investigations and incorporate lessons learned across projects.

• Conduct site visits, leadership engagements, and assurance reviews.

• Coach project and contractor leadership teams to enhance safety leadership and leading indicators.

• Supervise compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, client requirements, and Ramboll HSEQ standards.

• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance meetings.

• Establish consistent HSEQ performance reporting utilizing leading and lagging indicators.

• Convert performance data into actionable insights, recommendations, and actions for stakeholders.

• Travel frequently to project sites and collaborate with field teams, clients, contractors, and project leadership.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.

• Strong background in supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction environments.

• Proven ability to influence without direct authority.

• Demonstrated experience in supporting construction management delivery models where HSEQ performance relies on contractor execution and effective client/contractor interface management.

• Working knowledge of HSEQ controls during the construction phase, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Ability to travel regularly to project locations and effectively engage with field teams, project leadership, clients, and contractors.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent are preferred.

• Experience in energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is preferred.

• Experience supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects is preferred.

• International or remote project experience is preferred.
